The heroic ethos of William Wallace and the Spartan 300 are the inspiration behind many of these works. The focus of these paintings will in part always be an individual's experience in the face of overwhelming odds. These images are not meant to glorify war but to remind us what it means to stand heroically against great peril. 	I have always been fascinated by European history and mythology. I am inspired by the struggle, adventure and romance of the ancient tales of Europe. I grew up listening to the tales of Arthur, Siegfried, Eric the Red, Roland and many other European folk tales. My father would tell me stories of his experiences in the Korean war and of his father who was a born warrior. He joined the French Foreign Legion when he was a teenager and rose to the rank of Captain. Later, he fought in the Philippine Insurrection, the Boxer Rebellion and in France during WW1. He captured von Hindenburg's dog , was wounded by gas and after his recovery became a medic. It was from these stories that my love of history and mythology grew. I have illustrated for book covers, newspapers, corporations, completed many private commissions and won many awards for my art. My art can be found in many corporate and private collections around the world.
